- I'm a 38 years old seaman, but enthusiastic hiker and avid recreational poker player, looking for a chance to change my life. Recently I had a lower back injury and I was unable to function normally as a result. I gained a lot of weight, I couldn't perform my job (as a seaman by occupation and I don't get any compensation for my sick days, we are paid by contract for working days only), and that affected me financially, but most important mentally. I want to lose some weight, get back in shape and get ready to resume my job and my life. I want to thru-hike the longest Slovenian hiking trail, "Pot kurirjev in vezistov NOB" or in English: Currier trail of national liberation movement.
This were the trails used by Partisan couriers during 2nd world war, as they were delivering news, vital intelligence, transporting wounded soldiers and recovering downed allies pilots during Nazi and Fascist occupation.
The route has little bit less than 1300 km or 800 miles. Usually it can be completed in 47 days, but due to my physical state I plan to finish it in 60 days.
I wold need your help so I can buy some hiking gear (lots of my old stuff doesn't fit 😩) and have some money for trail expenses. 1000€ won't quite cover it, but it's a start 😊.
Alternatively you can help me by buying some of the stuff that I will need from my wish list on Amazon.co.uk, link below:
