Campaign Story
As a son of first generation Japanese Immigrants I've enjoyed the presence of diverse culture. Growing up in the United States and occasionally traveling to Japan, I noticed the difference in each society. I've always wondered what else is out there in the world. I became interested in traveling so I can and experience other cultures. Finally this summer I will have a chance to explore Nicaragua.
Why should I donate to this college student traveling to Nicaragua?
I want a chance to experience something life changing. I want something that will flip me upside down and change my perspective of life. I believe traveling will uplift myself as a person in a positive way.
I was blessed to be nominated as a volunteer and travel to Nicaragua. In Nicaragua I will promote health and education to children in local schools. I have experience in teaching the game of baseball to children in organized baseball camps. I love teaching. Children are the future of any country and if I have the chance to influence them to become a strong and intelligent person, I will be honored to be part of this process.
As a student in University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB) I am a marketing intern for the UCSB Men's soccer team and work at a Sushi restaurant. On top of that I have school work and it is limiting my hours to work. I am saving up as much as I can but I will not have enough money to participate in this volunteer program. Please help me fund my volunteer trip to Nicaragua. Any donation will help.
Thank you for your time
