High school has a chance to ride in the Baja 1000

My name is Ed Boontjer I am one of the last woodshop teachers in the Northern CA area.
I have a chance to ride in the BAJA 1000 this year. My answer was no because of money. I mentioned the opportunity to my students and they were excited for me. When I told them I would not be able to do this because of the expense they would not let me give up so easily. They told me about "Gofundme". Here I sit asking for a small amount ($1,600) that would make this possible to go, ride and bring them back some video and stories. My hope is to inspire them to achieve more than their "caste" expetations. I recieved a last minute invite with a group of guys that have done this event before and I feel honored to have this chance. These funds will be used to make it possible for me to go and ride with this group. I have some funds of my own but am short ... as I am a teacher always trying to achieve more than the funds will allow.
This is a once in a lifetime opportunity and I would greatly appreciate it. I need the funds by 11/8. we depart 11/11 for BAJA .
