Hiatal Hernia Operation

Short Description

I sustained an injury which is called a Hiatal Hernia. This is a Hernia on the diaphragm and causes the stomach to bulge through the diaphragm into the chest cavity. As time goes by, the Hernia (Tear) gets worse and worse. This makes it really hard to sleep at night, as I need to sleep on an incline to reduce the amount of the stomach that pushes through but does not completely stop it from bulging through. This also causes acid reflux disease (GERD) which burns the stomach. Both bulging and acid reflux can cause long-term problems if left untreated. Currently, I am on a high dose of medication to keep the stomach acids at bay but will also cause problems in the long run. In short, I need to get an operation to fix this condition but is more expensive than can be afforded.

About Me

My name is Leon and I use to be a martial artist but currently working in IT in front of computers. I use to spend a lot of time in the Gym earlier years and then started doing martial arts later on. I became a martial arts instructor eventually and was an instructor for many years. I have always tried to train as safely as possible and might have trained a bit harder than I should have a few times, however, it does seem like I had a weak diaphragm since childhood (Well that is what the doctors told me). These days I have moved away from weight training due to my Hernia and only doing light bodyweight exercises to try and stay healthy.

Medical

I have been to a specialist gastroenterologist which did confirm that I did have a Hiatal Hernia. And currently using the prescribed medications to help suppress the pain and symptoms as far as possible. However, it does not heal my condition and in time my condition will get worse up to the point that if my stomach starts pressing against my heart it could potentially become either life-threatening or a lot harder to repair (I am merely explaining what the specialist explained to me here). Unfortunately, due to a reason which is hard to explain I can't claim this through a medical aid at this current time. I do want this operation as it's very hard to live day after day with the pain getting worse and worse, but cannot afford this on my salary.

Conclusion

I would highly appreciate any donation to assist me in getting this operation done. As every cent puts me 1 step closer to getting this done. No donation is too small. I honestly would appreciate anything anyone can help me with as I am desperate to get this pain fixed.
