Lara began her journey four years ago helping troubled youth off the streets at different stages of their lives. She helped to rehabilitate them to where they could lead a semi normal life on anti retrovirals and many hospital visits. This progressed over the years to helping young children from the very same township where most of the older kids were origionally from. The one place in particular being a poverty stricken & violent township called Claremont (Aka... Kwadabekka) in South Africa. To date the horror that these children have witnessed and been through is enough to cripple a grown man for life.
Lara is single but eventually quite her full time job due to time restraints as children are a lot more demanding and so she has dedicated and focused her lifes work on healing & loving on these little humans. She openend her heart & home, to forfill a desperate need and her passion to help these youngsters growing up around death, murder & lawlessness.
Today Lara has 3 beautiful children in her care and continues to fight for their custody. The boys father was murdered (gunned down) in his home 3 months ago after serving a prison sentence years prior. The biological mother who allegedly stabbed the youngest twice & physically abused his slightly older twin brothers keeps me very busy when every so often she realises she wont be able to recieve their grant money once the papers are cleared. Up to 5 other children under the age of 12 come at any given weekend & school holidays. Her doctor has told her that even though she is strong, she cannot keep this up on her own and therefore we are really praying and trusting to have more funding come in so she can continue to provide a stable environment for them as well as other little heroes to come.
Lara is passionate about seeing young children get a second chance at life as she was adopted herself. She wishes to see them healed emotionally and physically and works with them daily to become the best they can be. She aims at giving them a permanent roof over their heads, an education and a wholesome loving environment where they will be free to blossom and grow to become the best they can be, rather than another statistic to drugs, crime or begging on the streets.
In Lara's spare time you will find her doing a lot of ground work in the rural parts of her community. Feeding and helping those less fortunate & vunerable INCLUDING animals. Lara is a single mum with a single minded vision and would love to be able to facilitate more children as there is such a desporate need. She has given up her full time career in order to raise & support these children at risk. Lara does not receive any funding from the government or grants for these children and sometimes feels like shes in over her head but continues to remain faithful to her lifes call. If you would like to help Lara and the Heroes Of Hope, it doesnt have to be large amounts but please would you consider assisting with funds towards their medical, psycological, education, groceries, and normal day to day living expenses. Every bit counts so please dont feel your contribution is in any way inferior to anyone else.
To run this organisation successfuly we will be needing on average amount of R6000 per child to enable a little Heroe to live a semi normal life with all necessities covered
