Stand With Hong KongManufacturing!!

We need your Support !!

Halo,Everyone. My name is Charlotte Lin. I'm living in Hong Kong and Spending over ten years in Area of Hong Kong Traditional Hand Crafting. I do with many handcrafting projects, such as Traditional Teddy Bear and Watch manufacturing. The book "The sunset survivor" spired me, We need to keep the heritage of the traditional.

In a city undergoing a dramatic cultural shift, balancing social and political upheaval, the need to document Hong Kong’s traditional livelihoods has seldom been more significant. Capturing the real personality of this metropolis, the Heritage project is a vital piece of history. Have seen this problem, I launch a Kickstarter Project with my partners to share and promo the one of the traditional handcrafting product- Watch Bracelets.

We got a offer to the Japan Design Festa for present the traditntal technique to the world. And our team have not enough budget for the trip. There is an urgent need to collect US$1000 to promo the traditional technique.

Budget Cost:

EntryFees- US$200

Equipment -US$100

Flight Tickets- US$ 500

Living Cost - US $200

We are appealing for donations – every sum, small or large, will be a great help in enabling Heritage and protect the Hong Kong culture to quickly get back up to full speed.

Thank you for Watching and We need your help.

At the End, I will provide a YouTube video for present what we do on Tokyo Event and give the postcards for own donations!

The Golden Age of Hong Kong Manufacturing Industries

Industrial development in Hong Kong has a long history. Making boats and shipping related industries were the first to develop. More heavy industries developed by European companies. In the early 20th century, Chinese merchants established factories in Hong Kong, stimulating such industries as textile and the manufacturing of rubber shoes and torches. By the time of Watch Manufacturing, local industries had already made much progress. Industrial production was almost halted during the occupation but revived quickly after the War. And Our Manufacturing Artisans were keeping the factory and the traditional manufacturing process to witness the Golden Age of Hong Kong Manufacturing Industries.

Heritage of Traditional Technique

One of the main goals of this project is the "Heritage of traditional technique." In the current market, many mesh bracelets made by automatic machine — even the Apple Milanese loop. Many fundamental processes may have since gone missing. Our Mission is preserving the manufacturing heritage of Watch Bracelets and caring for 40 years of historical story to our community and our next generation.

Each "Hand Made Watch Bracelets" must be follow over 20 manufacturing steps and 3 Days of Work Time.

For example,

  • Preparation of Silver Links.
  • Uniformity
  • Densely Woven
  • Assembly the Silver links
  • Immobilizing
  • Soldering
  • Pressing
  • Manual Completion and suppling of bracelets

Also We doing a Kickstarter project to promo the traditional watch bracelets for Apple Watch call " Musubi".

"MUSUBI" is the Japanese word "結び." It means the connections and relationship between humans being. And it also represents the flow of TIMES and Life Force. According to the book "Shinto: A Celebration of Life," Musubi is the first principle that is giving life to everything in the universe. It is the energy that gives form and character to all that is alive, and that ensures continuity from one living being, one species and one evolutionary form to another. Musubi is expressed equally through individual creativity and group co-operation, individual life, and the collective lives of peoples.

EVERYTHING WITHIN NATURE IS "MUSUBI 結び ".

We believe we can build a stronger relationship with our community.

One of the main processes of Milanese Mesh is Weaving. It means a circular of community. Every silvers coil create new interactive to Humans. In MUSUBI, life spontaneously occurs, organically develops and creatively interacts. Life itself is the only "Cause" and the single "effect" in the universe. It is about Observations of pattern with nature which affect the structure of human society and the relationship between humanity and God.

"HUMANS ARE BORN WIRED FOR CONNECTION."
