My wife Jenifer has been diagnosed with Stage 4 Breast Cancer in 2014. As such she went through the stressful cancer treatment of chemotheraphy- mastectomy-chemotheraphy- radiotheraphy. After that, she was advised to take maintenance medication for 5years, in the hope that such would stem the growth or spread of cancer cells.
However, in March this year, barely 4 years since, Jhen again was diagnosed with Stage 4 Breast cancer. Her treatment included another 6 sessions of chemotheraphies, followed by a mastectomy, and again 6 sessions of chemotheraphies, and finally, 18 sessions of Herceptin SC(trastuzumab) treatment.
Jhen has finally completed all the chemotheraphy and the battle doesn’t quite end there, yet. She still needs to go through the Herceptin treatment and I’m afraid, after a lot that we’ve been through, we may still lose this battle.
Herceptin is very expensive, one vial alone costs Php 121,139.20* (USD2,242) and she needs 18 of them. Treatment is every 3 weeks, which started 27 September 2018. Although we have also enrolled her to the Roche Patient Support Program, which ensures her of 9 free vials, the remaining 9 vials still amount to Php 1,090,252.80 (USD20,179.318) .
After 4 years into this battle without asking help from government or other individuals and institutions, I have already exhausted all my savings and all loan allowances from lending institutions. Now finally, I have nowhere else to turn to.
With Jhen's next treatment coming on October 11, as of writing, I have only USD185 left in my savings. Your contribution will help Jhen continue on as loving wife, mother to our 2 kids, and friend to everyone around her.
Thank you so much.
