Hendrik Dik – MAS ETH MTEC

We moved to Switzerland in 2015, me (a Marine Scientist in landlocked Switzerland) my wife, and our 4 year old daughter. Our plan was for me to take a year off as a stay at home dad while my wife worked. Now 2 years later, my savings are gone and I still haven't found a job. I need to find work urgently and I also need to be here for my daughter. This study will let let me do both.

I've applied for a position at the ETH Masters of Advanced Studies course Management, Technology, and Economics. ETH was the university Einstein studied at, its world famous and graduates from this university rarly have trouble building rewarding careers.

I'm hoping to use my study to build a business that will help make real solutions for climate change, helping to make our cities more liveable as summers get warmer.

The last time I studied I graduated top of my class in the MBA programme, I found work before I graduated and my career took off. I'm hoping this course will help me get my career going again. It sure does seem to be the right course at the right time.

Finances are tight since moving to Switzerland, my savings are gone and I really need to find work to help support my family. The course costs 28400 Swiss Francs, ($25,000 Australian dollars) - I need to pay the first half before I start the course in September this year and there is no way we can afford to raise that kind of money so quickly.

I'm hoping to raise enough to pay for the first half, and am looking for business sponsors to match any contributions we can raise.

Any help you can give is really, really appreciated! It will help me find the work that has been so difficult to find, and it will let me be here for my wife and daughter as well.
