Campaign Story
Helston Colts are going on tour over the Easter weekend and are looking for sponsorship for their tour kit. Instead of just asking local company or organisation to sponsor them, the boys would like to do something in return. Not only are they happy to get physical for their tour kit but they would like to use this opportunity to raise funds for two local charities (50/50).
The first charity is The League of Friends of Helston Community Hospital. Not only does the hospital see many of our club members that receive injures on match and training days, they also see them in their physiotherapy department.
The second charity is St. Julia's Hospice in Hayle. The hospice is close to the heart of many involved in the Colts as well as many of the squad having connections with Hayle.
The squad will row 600km from Helston - Bristol - Helston using two rowers to in the clubhouse at 7pm on Saturday 27th February through to 7pm (or when they complete the distance) on Sunday 28th February 2016. The rowers will be placed inside Helston RFC with each player having to row 25km (about 2.5 mins per km).
Helston Colts are aged between 16 & 18 and many players have been playing rugby at the club from tha age of 7. This is their final season as as squad before they move into senior adult rugby. Many players will be leaving for university after the summer so this tour will be a final farewell for a great group of friends.
The colts will begin the day with a home fixture against St Austell on the Saturday afternoon (kick-off tbc.) and with England playing Ireland at 4pm it looks like being a very busy and exiting day, so if you are in the area please call into the club watch some great rugby and show them your support.
On Sunday morning you will be able to enjoy a homebaked cake with tea or coffee while you have your car washed in the car park.

Having been on the go since 7pm the previous night the last couple of hours became a struggle but the teamwork and commitment that the boys show on the. . . . .
