Campaign Story
Having a twin was a big surprise for Deylon and Andrea Parto. So for months, they just thought that Andrea was carrying their third child like how she carried their first two children. On their first ultrasound, they found out that Andrea was not carrying one baby but two. The doctor told them also that she was carrying their twins in two separate wombs, meaning she has two uteruses. This is not an ordinary case. The twins had different due dates and to welcome them to this world at the same time, Andrea needed to go through cesarean delivery.
Hearing about the condition of the babies and the possible expenses, Deylon and Andrea prepared what they needed for the delivery.
But one of the twins was eager to be in this world. September 28th, Andrew, the first baby, decided to come quite a bit earlier than planned. Andrea had to be rushed to the hospital and had a normal delivery for Andrew. But the doctor needed to bring Daniel, the second baby, out as well. So Andrea undergone a cesarean delivery for the second baby. The twins are under-developed at 8 months. They are so small and their lungs are not working well. They are placed in incubators with oxygen inserted to their noses and compressed air punctured in their lungs to help them breathe.
Though the deliveries went well and hospital machines are keeping the twins to develop, the cost of deliveries and ICU, bills of medical equipments and medicines, doctor and specialist’s fees are pilling up. The expected amount of money they prepared was not enough. Deylon and Andrea are one of the most kind-hearted and supportive friends I know. They have been there for so many of their friends, colleagues and relatives. Now, alot of people are giving back support to them. But the accumulated monetary support are still not enough to cover all the running bills and expenses from the hospital. It is our chance to give back and to help alleviate the monetary burden that this family feels right now. If you have ever been touched by the kindness or help of Deylon and Andrea Parto, will you take a moment to give? Or if you have a few extra funds to support a kind and good family so that they may begin this new chapter of life with a little less fear of bills, I ask that you do so. And please share this message far and wide. Let's bring Andrea, Andrew and Daniel home with a little less burden.
I also ask for your little prayer for the twins' and the Parto family's welfare.
The twins are currently admitted in St. Anthony Medical Center of Marikina, Marikina City, Philippines
| The twins were placed in incubators.
| Andrew remains inside the incubator with compressed air to help him breathe while Daniel is now outside of incubator and developing perfectly.
| The doctor needed to punctured his side to insert the compressed air directly to his lungs.
| As of today, 13th of October, they still remain inside the NICU (neonatal intensive care unit). But good news to the family, Daniel, the second of the twin, will be ready to come out. But the hospital is requiring them to settle the bills before they allow to discharge him.
