A while back while I was living in Idaho, I was speaking with my childhood friend. After talking for a while, we came up with a plan to purchase some property to live on and build a homestead along with his mother. The area was supposed to have a small living area, function as a pollinator habitat for birds, bees, bats, ect., and provide habitat for other wildlife. His mother cashed in her full retirement with the plan of going on disability after being injured on the job. She was a nurse for over 25 years, many of which functioning as a charge nurse, working on med-surge, and acting as a speaker of the nurses union.
The mother had paid for her son, my childhood friend, to have schooling to work in a hospital, be a professional photographerm and to have schooling on how to build and fix computers. He was supposed to pay back all of the money he had borrowed for schooling after he got a job.
Shortly after moving to Washington, the son ended up running off with some friends to California. In the process of doing this, we found he took a $200 acrylics art set, a $350 cooking pan, two SLR cameras whose combined value totalled over $1500, and an $1800 Nikon Zoom Lens with Auto Focus. In addition, we found he'd been slowly taking her money and putting it into his own account as well as spending $6000 on a shipping container that he was supposed to repay.
As a result of him leaving, we were unable to get electricty put on the property (we need a power pole). For the last year, we've been living in an empty shipping container and an unfinished yurt (large round tent) without power, water, toilet, and with scarce food.
Since then, my diseases have gotten worse as I've not been able to afford to get them taken care of and his mother's health has also deteriorated. She even broke her leg in two places after a fall. Luckily she's been granted disability and we've been able to afford a small apartment. After everything that's happened though, it seems like living on this property is never going to happen and this mother deserves to be happy during her retirement.
This is why I'm asking for help to try and make this this mother's wish to live on the property come true. The money we're asking for will be used towards getting electricity to the property. Anything that would be left over would be used to making the container into a tiny home and then creating the pollinator park for the various wildlife.
Thank you to everyone that contributes to this goal. If you're unable to donate and still want to help, please consider sharing this.
Thank you, K.S. Perreira
