Help Naomi Joy & Moro find a new home!

Naomi Joy is going through some major life changes!

She is separating (amicably!) from her marital partner and moving out of their shared home, and taking the rescue puppy, Moro, with her. She also recently had to pay a big and somewhat unexpected tax return, so finances are a little tough right now!

The money raised will go towards a deposit for a new rental home, the first months rent (as is essential with most rentals), set up a new art studio and all the costs associated with looking after a puppy! The rental market is tough right now, and finding somewhere suitable for a rescue puppy with complex needs makes it even more difficult. Moro ideally needs to live in a bungalow, or somewhere with minimal stairs, and needs some outside enclosed space as she needs regular toilet breaks. Naomi also needs a separate room as her studio to work in and store her products and packaging materials.

She has a plan of how to pay for the place on an ongoing basis but is struggling to know how to raise all the funds and have enough to make ends meet right now. She is a determined, hard worker, who despite everything is trying not to give up on her dreams and ambitions for life.

Naomi's main income is from her art work (the other being irregular shifts at a social enterprise pottery supporting adults with learning difficulties and autism to help them out!) and we'd love for her to being able to continue living this way as it enables her to help many other organisations and causes and partake in direct action flexibly. It also means ongoing health issues are less of a problem for her and she's working her ultimate dream job too! She also needs to be home often for Moro as she cannot be left more than three hours at a time, the few people that can care for Moro (as she can be quite nervous, can be quick to bite and only Naomi can pop her harness on currently) are not readily available on a daily basis.

They are looking to move out to the countryside in Wiltshire to be near Naomi's lovely friends in Bath and so they can enjoy the countryside together - less busy with dogs for Moro and Naomi can be inspired by the wildlife. It's also cheaper than Bristol city centre, although as with all rentals, still very costly. She is excited for a fresh start and to be closer to nature but feeling very overwhelmed with how to get there and cover the costs. She will be moving in with people most likely, but this is to pay for her share of the costs and support her though this time.

Naomi suffers from long term mental health issues that she pays for weekly private therapy to support her through. She has been mostly raising funds for this through her art work for the last year and a bit so finances as often tight as it is and we want her to be able to continue to access this support as she makes some massive changes to her life.

Moro is currently under the care of a professional dog behaviourist to help her fair the world better after her difficult start and Naomi needs time and stability to help put those plans into action, deliver training and make Moro feel as comfortable and settled as possible.

They are an anxious pair together but support each other through highs and lows and are desperate to not be separated and to make a great new start together.

We want to support Naomi to have as smooth transition as possible. She does so much for other people and non-human animals, often stretching herself for other causes, and we want to help her in this time of need. So please give generously if you are able or commission a small ink drawing as every little bit will be amazing beneficial and we, Naomi and Moro will be so massively grateful for the support.

• Potluck Mindful Moment - £10 (20 available). We will send you a random leftover Mindful Moment A5 signed and numbered print from 2021 which fund Naomi's therapy.
