HELP MOMMY MYRNA RECOVER
On January 14, 2021, Myrna underwent Gastric Bypass Surgery and a Cholecystostomy because of complications brought about by a cancerous mass in her abdomen. She was then discharged a couple of weeks later but was immediately rushed back to the Emergency Room at St. Luke’s Medical Center (BGC) shortly after coming home because her blood pressure suddenly dropped dramatically.
Doctors then confirmed that she had SEPTIC SHOCK, which is an infection throughout her body which could also lead to organ damage. This diagnosis led to her being admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and she has been there since February 4, 2021 under close observation by her medical team. It has been very unpredictable, sometimes harrowing, standing by and watching her recover because of her weakened immune system as a result of her Pancreatic cancer.
Ideal Road to Recovery:
- Help her stay stable and eventually transferred out of ICU
- Improve and build her immune system against the infection
- Initiate post-infection recovery at the hospital/at home
- Chemotherapy
Her prolonged stay in ICU in addition to all her diagnostic tests and procedures has already set us back almost P1,000,000 (USD $20,000), and this figure excludes the professional fees of her numerous doctors. It has become crystal clear to us that the mounting medical costs coming our way for Mom’s recovery is a burden that is going to go beyond what our family can afford.
We are hoping that this call to action will allow all our families, friends and strangers around the world to rally our hearts, love, and support for her, in order to lift her well-being and spirits to come out of this stronger than ever.
We are knocking on your kind hearts to make a donation towards Mom’s recovery. We are extremely grateful for your help and no amount is too small! If you are more comfortable donating with a local bank transfer, please don’t hesitate to do so to any one of the following Philippines bank accounts:
BDO: 004150448658 (Name: Neal Martin Atienza)
BPI: 0019928241 (Name: Neal Martin Atienza)
GCash: 09778427227 (Name: Neal Martin Atienza)
We completely understand if you are not in a position to make a donation and we urge you to instead send your heart warm messages, prayers, words of encouragement, video greetings or anything equivalent to [email protected] and we will certainly relay your thoughts and prayers to her on a daily basis.
Thank you for reading and God Bless You!
Warm regards,
Myrna’s loving family (Arnel, Neal & Rona, and Nico & Amrita)
