Mico – The Smart Kid with Autism

This is my Grandson, Mico, He is 21 years old now and he has Autism (Asperger's Syndrome to be exact).
He's the second child of my son Arnel, who is a widower, raising 5 kids and working as a carpenter.

Mico is currently living with me and under my care since his father is having a hard time raising all his 5 kids, and giving Mico the special care and attention that he needs.

Mico is a very special boy.. growing up, he learned to read, write, and count on his own just by watching TV shows like Discovery Channel, National Geographic, History and cartoons of course! He likes reading Encyclopedia, Atlas, and Maps! He's got an Excellent Photographic Memory that he could name all flags of the world and he knows every capital city of all countries.

When Computers and Internet came out, he's got even smarter! with searching the internet, watching videos on youtube, and reading news about current affairs around the world.

We sent him to a Public SPED School to improve his abilities more, he's gotten into drawing his favorite cartoon characters and imaginations and make up stories through his drawings... but the educational system there is just not that good.. He gets bored when he's in class with other kids that are younger than him and has different interests and tantrums too... and we just couldn't afford to send him to school anymore as we are financially challenged as well.

I am a widower myself, I am 75 years old and living with my daughter and her family. They only have one child so we decided to take Mico under our custody. We try as much as we could to teach Mico to be a normal individual, he can perform a couple of household chores like washing the dishes and dusting furniture at home.. he also helps me with running my little photo shop by taking ID pictures of customers and editing them for printing. He's very much efficient with helping me fix my computer whenever I encounter some problems. He's a very smart kid and we don't want to put his talent into waste.

We are planning to send him back to School for Children with Autism on High School Level and we really hope we could raise enough fund to help him with his schooling and needs.

Our greatest fear is that if I passed away leaving Mico behind, what will happen to him, who will take care of him? so I want him to go to school and get a job if possible and learn to live and make a living for himself.

PLEASE HELP MICO GET BACK TO SCHOOL AND BUY HIS OWN COMPUTER FOR HIS STUDY! :
