Campaign Story
Hello everyone! My name is Malyn and I live in the Philippines with my family and adorable nephews and nieces who I take care of. For the last four years I have worked my hardest to provide for my family as I am the breadwinner. And being a freelancer doesn't guarantee a fixed income. It has been very hard, but I have been able to provide for our basic needs.
But these past few weeks I have been feeling very exhausted and have gone to my doctors for tests and ultrasounds. My OBGYN cleared me during my yearly checkup, but I was still feeling very tired. My OBGYN referred me to an endocrinologist who ordered an ultrasound of my thyroid where they discovered a mass. My Endo ordered a FNAB and the test came back as positive for papillary thyroid cancer and she told me that I needed to see a surgeon ASAP! But since I don’t have an insurance, I would be needing $7000 up front to cover the cost of the surgery, lab tests, radiation therapy and other tests needed. And I have not recovered financially since my surgery last year (April 14, 2015) - myomectomy.
Times like these are so tough especially when you do not know what lies ahead. It is so scary and left me exhausted all day and night - the fact that it is cancer. I still have a lot of plans for my family and I still want to live for another 40-50 years with them and enjoy life.
I hope you will help me to attain my goal. Your help would mean so much to me. Any amount will be greatly appreciated and I will be forever grateful with that. And also please include me in your prayers.

Breakdown of Cost
- $4000 - Surgery
- $1000 - Medicines & other tests needed
- $2000 - For radiation therapy, the amount is more or less only good for 1 session
I may fall short because I have not anticipated the charges and conversion rate.

The surgery went so well and the pathology report after the surgery came back as Non-invasive follicular thyroid neoplasm with papillary-like nuclear features. Meaning, I'm at low risk and won't be needing Radioactive Iodine treatment! Yayyy!!! Thank you

I would be needing at least $3000 to proceed with the first step - surgery.I am also thinking of giving out a few rewards to reciprocate your goodness, but this will only be limited.

#VA Hi Malyn, I was very sorry to hear about your Thyroid cancer. My wife had her thyroid removed about a year an a half ago, as it was full of benign growths, and it wasn't working. I sent $35 previously, but here is another $70. Alympia said in the Foundation Facebook group: "For donations of $70 or more Emalyn (my VA) will do 15 hours of list building/scraping, lead capturing, email sending/answering, customer service, " I am looking for a VA to do list building/scraping and email sending right now.
