Help Marika’s Dad Edong Laciste in battling his health condition

Update posted by Christine Reyes On Apr 24, 2020

I want to thank everyone again for donating. We are at almost 350k now. Let me thank you one by one once everything is calmer. But to everyone helping us now monetarily, emotionally or spiritually. Thank you very much.

You may opt not to read beyond this point but let me share an update especially for everyone who has been asking na di ko mareplyan.

And I hope through this "diary", once magising na si dad, makita niya na I, we, have been here and fighting for him no matter what the case be.

So at 4 AM today I received one of the heaviest calls in my life. Dr. said dad deteriorated, with zero response and a brain surgery has to be done immediately. I rushed to the hospital without caring about the lockdown and immediately went to the ICU (last night my dad tested negative for Covid19 that's why he was transferred to a "clean" ICU and hence I can visit him na) -- this would be the first time I would see him in 4 days. I just cried and talked to him and prayed so hard. Then my brother came also as I couldn't handle the situation alone anymore. Thank you kuya!

And to cut the story short, we transferred him to his neurosurgeon batchmate (Dr. Dubuque) and after the new CT scan, his brain is severely swollen, and unfortunately had a new stroke while on bed. The neurosurgeon did not recommend any brain surgery anymore. He is now down to 20% chance to live. Dr. said we stay with him and settle affairs already.

Without thinking much about the covid scare (but we are very careful naman) we already asked our cousin to drive my mom to the hospital so he can talk to dad.

Guess what? When we came, when we stayed, he responded a bit and had better BP. This is a good sign for us and a little sign of hope that my dad is fighting and trying to live.

Scientifically, he has still low chances of survival even after today. But spiritually and emotionally, I know and I believe and I hope that a one and a million miracle will happen and he will wake up and live again.

I want to give him the world. I hope he wakes up soon.

For everyone who would risk visiting my father, visit time is from 9 to 11 AM, and 5 to 7 PM. 1 is to 1 policy inside.

Please continue praying with us.

Love you dad, Ricardo Laciste. Sobra sobra.

Hello. I am surprised and beyond thankful sa dami ng tao extending their help since I posted yesterday. Help is coming in different forms and I was not expecting this. And from the bottom of my heart, maraming maraming salamat. I have not been fully responsive as I don't know how to explain how I feel right now.

To give you an update, for the sake of my dad's health, my family and I decided to keep him in Medical City ICU for now. Transfer is allowed naman but the Neuro does not recommend it given his critical condition. Hindi pa rin siya gumigising since yesterday with very slow/low response pag nag inflict ng pain ang doctors.

This is my dad's 6th stroke in 11 years. He has been fighting. We have been fighting. But this is the biggest stroke so far.

I am not the most holy of all but I do still believe in the power of prayer. I'm asking for prayers for my dad.

I just want to this to end, by end as in ending that he's ok with us again. And everyone is healthy.

If you are with your families right now, or with your father, gug them. It's something I wish I've done before all of these happened.

Maraming Salamat sa lahat

P.S. To make things worse, he is tagged as PUI. But I do firmly believe this is not Covid19.
