Hello, kind strangers. I’m Marian Jean Benetua (32 years old), and my family and I are knocking on your kind hearts to help us save our mom, Beverly.

Mama was admitted to a hospital in Paranaque on Tuesday, as she did not have any appetite to eat. She was confirmed positive for COVID and bacterial pneumonia, and is currently in ICU, so they can monitor her oxygen levels and administer 6 Remdesivir shots (P12,000 per shot) for her treatment.

We’ve made an initial payment of 100,000+ pesos at the hospital, but the expenses have already exceeded the amount, and it’s only been a few days since my mom has been admitted (You may find all documented hospital statement of accounts here.)

While my father and I have jobs, our salaries and savings will not be enough to cover her medical expenses. I am currently applying for a loan, but that might also not be enough to cover her upcoming expenses.

Which is why we would like to reach out to anyone who would be willing to help.

My mom, fondly called Mama Bev by my friends, has always had a magnanimous spirit. She’s the type who won’t mind spending hours listening to your problems, giving her time, advice and support to anyone who needs help.

My mom honestly doesn’t know we are doing, and she doesn’t want her photo taken because she’s afraid of the discrimination patients get, but we are taking this step as we need help and she deserves a fighting chance.

Any help given by you, she and our family will greatly appreciate.

Thank you. <3

We're deeply saddened to inform you that our mother Beverly passed away on Sept. 18 afternoon. She was cremated on the 19th. She was already eating soft food and recovering from COVID, but her death was caused by internal bleeding due to ulcer. She had already gone through so much. . . . .

Hi everyone! Just a quick update. Mama is getting stronger, but she is still connected to the mechanical ventilator. We’re hoping she gets strong enough to breathe on her own.
