Here is what you need to know about Kyrie

- and why we need your help:

This is our nephew Kyrie that lives in the Philippines. He was born with myelomeningocele (a type of spina bifida which looks like a sac sticking out from his back) a photo of which you can see when he was born in photos, an imperforate anus (there is no anal opening) and Down’s syndrome.

His parents have been trying for 8 years to have a baby and he is their pride and joy but Kyrie needs your help The Philippines don’t have the NHS or medicare like the US and UK. Everything has to be paid for separately. The operations alone cost about £2000 not taking in to account all the aftercare, cost of Kyrie’s hospital accommodation and medication. However, those kind of amounts are quite overwhelming so we have managed to raise £1000 by the end of the December to get the ball rolling. We are now hoping to raise £1500 to further help with his medical expenses. The family gathered money together to have surgery on his spine and to use a colostomy bag but we need help to fund two further operations to create an anal opening and close the colostomy.

These operations are required as soon as possible as he is growing and getting older. Please help this lovely little boy. Thank you.

UPDATE - Due to your help Kyrie has had his first operation and we now need to raise another £700 to pay for the removal of his colostomy. Please help even if it’s just a little. Thank you.

NB Lots of people have asked me if this site is safe to use. It has great reviews on trustpilot and is the only crowdfunding site I have found that can accept, UK pounds, US dollars, CA dollars and PH pesos. Plus, the fees are lower than other sites.

All funds raised will go to a special bank account created by me and all funds received I will then send directly to the family in the Philippines. This is the cheapest and quickest way of getting funds to the family. All my friends know I am honest and trustworthy.
