#HelpJudithFightCancer
This campaign's sole intention is to help my mother fight cancer. She's been battling cancer since 2006. Her mind is strong, but her body is getting weaker by the day. Please send her support to win this battle.
Let me share her journey with you…
My mother, Judith Pospos, just turned 56 years old last February 22, 2021. She is a single mother to her two children, now 31 and 33 years old. Ever since her second child was still a few months old, she had to work all by herself to feed her two kids and support her family. You see, she was also the breadwinner of her family. She was living with her mother and two younger sisters. Despite all the challenges that life threw at her, she kept fighting back and worked as hard as she could. Due to her undying love, both her kids graduated college. She gave her all to her family and left nothing for herself. Being a workaholic, her body took a toll on her.
She was first diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer in 2006, she was 40 years old then. Her two children were 16 and 18 years old. Through the help of her family and friends, she was able to go through chemotherapy and was declared cancer-free. Sometime in 2014, she felt sick and consulted a “faith healer”, hoping that she would get better. This faith healer made us believe that she just had to go through several sessions and not consult a doctor because the medicine the doctors would give her might interfere with her alternative faith treatment. She was unable to work for several months because of her condition. She was hoping to get back to work as soon as the sessions set by the “fake healer” were all completed. She was not getting better though; her condition worsened. Until March 2015, we decided to consult a real doctor. She was diagnosed with stage 4 bone cancer. She decided to resign from her job due to her physical inability to work.
We have been with her ever since. We have been fighting her bone cancer for almost 6 years now. But if there is one thing scarier than cancer itself, it’s the fact that it is financially challenging for the patient’s family. Her medication and treatment from 2015 until 2019 helped her a little bit. We thought she was getting better until this pandemic came. She was unable to go outside to consult her doctor, undergo treatment, and seek medical attention of any kind. She was at a higher risk to contract Covid19. So, she and her family decided to postpone her treatment. It was a better choice than to contract the virus.
Now, she wants to fight cancer once again. Her mind is strong, but her body is getting weaker by the day. Any amount of donation will help her continue her journey. I do not know how much exactly she needs, but what I know is that we can barely support her financially. Her chemo drugs alone would cost us PhP 29,000+ every week. Without additional help from outside our family, her treatment will be delayed. Cancer is financially depressing.
Every cent of your donations will be used for her medication, treatment, therapy, etc.
Sincerely,
Judith and her family
