UPDATE AS OF MAY 9, 2021: 6 months after Ivan's surgery

Two weeks ago, my brother had another episode of seizure during his recovery from his recent brain surgery. We have mentioned, the surgery was 90% successful but the doctors has required him to undergo PET CT Scan which cost around Php62,000.

This scan shall determine if he will undergo another brain surgery (to remove the rest of the rumor) otherwise a possibility for him to undergo medical treatment such as chemotherapy and radiation therapy.

Once again, we are reaching out to you for any amount that can help us make his medical treatment possible. With our utmost gratitude, we thank God and everyone who has been supportive of his journey.

UPDATE AS OF NOVEMBER 28, 2020: Ivan is admitted to JBL Hospital and scheduled to undergo awake brain surgery anytime in the next coming days!

Greetings, everyone.

We hope you are doing well despite the unprecedented events happening around. It was never easy for us too, especially with the current condition of our family member, Ivan Reyes, who has been diagnosed with a brain tumor since last year.

His supposed last visit to the Philippine General Hospital in Manila to undergo MRI scan last March 2020 was abruptly postponed due to the unfortunate pandemic, causing us a delay in time and worry.

Today, after almost a year when we first launched the fundraiser, we are glad to announce that Ivan has now been admitted to Jose B. Lingad Hospital and scheduled to undergo awake brain surgery any time of the coming days.

With this, once again, we are asking for everyone's help to raise money while he undergoes a critical moment of his life. Any amount of cash and even a social media share is already a big help. Most importantly, we ask for everyone to join us in praying for the success of Ivan's surgery and a benign result.

We have raised a total amount of Php 161,750 from December 2019 until April 2020, which is a fair starting amount. However, an estimate amounting to Php 700,000 still needed to cover the numerous tests, hospital bills, four doctors, medical expenses, and intensive treatment after the surgery. In addition to that, he may or may not undergo chemotherapy depends on the biopsy result.

FIRST UPDATE last December 2019:

This is my 33-year-old brother, Ivan Reyes. He was recently diagnosed with a brain tumor and as his family, we felt broken but we need to be strong for him. He is single and is unfit for work because of his current condition, meaning he is not qualified to loan for financial assistance from our government healthcare program.

Never in our lives, we imagine something like this would happen. Signs started showing a few days after we celebrated his 33rd birthday — March 3. It took a long time before doctors found out about the tumor because we had to save up money for the CT and MRI scan of his brain.

Seizures, severe headaches, and nausea have become more frequent. Most of his medications do little help to ease his pain.

Last October, the doctor recommended to undergo brain surgery that would cost us an estimate of Php 1,000,000. Half of the cost will come from the biopsy operation and the specialised machine that would be used (which is only available in Metro Manila). The other half of the expenses will come from 3 doctors' professional fee ( anesthesiologist, cardiologist, and a surgeon), hospitalisation bills, and the medication during and after the surgery.

We look forward to having him undergo surgery by the end of 2019 but it is difficult to raise this amount of money with only 2 employed family members in support.

With this, we are hoping that anyone who has reached this page could donate ANY amount as it would greatly help in making Ivan's brain surgery possible. Above all your kindness and support, we are also asking for your prayers for the success of this fundraising campaign and the whole operation.
