Hi. Thank you for checking this page.

Twinkle is our friend since i was elementary, she was our hair dresser / make up artist. I remember Twinkle servicing us for events like graduation, prom and my sister’s 18th birthday. She’s always one call or text away if you need her.

Twinkle is the bread winner of the family. Her parents died few years ago, followed by her brother, Archie. That leaves her to take care of her 3 siblings, her nieces and nephews. Due to the pandemic, all her siblings jobs are affected and Twinkle had to do freelance hairdresser services to provide for her family, this includes hair rebonding, curling and nails etc. This has been Her forte for 25 years now. She was also a “Baranggay Tanod” or community night shift guard for extra income, where she guards the Baranggay’s main gate. She also runs errands for other people to earn extra money. She has been hardworking and will do everything she can to provide for her family.

Twinkle is also an active member of the LGBTQA+ community (MARIPOSA LGBT OF DASMARINAS), where their aim is to build and sustain a community that accepts and embraces LGBTQA+ as a norm. She is very active in all the outreach programs that the organisation does, like few months ago when there was a fire incident in the community, she provided assistance, helped gather donations and food to help the people in need.

Twinkle’s greatest fear is not be able to provide for her family and/or be a burden to them.

Last month, unfortunately, she was diagnosed with a Stage 4 Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD), sadly it was diagnosed late. Her Creatinine reached a critical level.

The family was not able to bring her to the hospital the soonest because of financial concerns. They do not have money to pay for preliminary full lab tests. Family and friends had to reach out to government offices, ask donations and filed for government support to gather enough money for her first hospitalisation. It took them a month to source the money needed to do initial set of laboratory and pay for specialist professional fee. Twinkle had to endure the pain for a month before she was admitted to the hospital for full diagnosis and to have her first dialysis.

Last Jan 28, she was admitted to the hospital and had her first dialysis. She stayed there for few days until Feb 6. She was able to pay the bill through the funds gathered by family and friends.

However, with CKD, she needs to do dialysis on a regular basis. Being the bread winner or the provider of the family and unfortunately with the pandemic, the family cannot afford to pay for her maintenance medicine and 3x a week dialysis. The procedure and meds are important for Twinkle to live. If without the dialysis and medicine, her kidneys will fail and that can end her life.

We are reaching out to you to help Twinkle and her family have a preliminary fund to support her dialysis, maintenance meds, and start a small “sari-sari store” business for Twinkle. She doesn’t want to be a burden to her family and she wish to have the “sari-sari store” as her source of income.

Let’s give Twinkle a chance to live. Please also include her in your prayers. She deserves to enjoy life. We welcome all kinds of donations, nothing is ever too small a dollar or peso can go a long way. Thank You in advance! God Bless You. God Bless Us All.

Her personal FB account is, Twinkle Catalan.
