Dear, brothers and sistershttps://www.facebook.com/wasimnasir20/videos/10217...
Just wanted to share some story among you all.
Thailand has not ratified the 1951 Refugee Convention and does not recognize the status of refugees. As a result, asylum seekers are not distinguished from other immigrants, legal or illegal. The Thai government asserts that it applies humanitarian conditions and observes the 1951 Convention in practice.
Thailand is a state party to the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, and to its First, but not Second, Optional Protocol.
The annual report of the United States Commission on International Religious Freedom (UNCIRF) states that the banned organizations are targeting religious minorities in Pakistan. It was noted in the report, “The entry of fundamentalist and often extremist, religious parties into the political arena in advance of July 2018 national elections further threatens religious minorities’ already precarious status in the country.” The report revealed, “In 2017, religious minorities in Pakistan, including Hindus, Christians, Sikhs, Ahmadis…continued to face attacks and discrimination from extremist groups and society at large.”As a result, as many as 231 people were killed and 691 injured in such incidents in Pakistan last year. For further information please visit the link below.
Pakistani Christian Asylum seekers have faced discrimination and persecution in there own homeland but after coming to Thailand they have faced more.
Thailand dose not consider Asylum seekers and refugees as a legal immigrants.
- These considered Aliens by Thai government are being arrested and detained by the Thai police in Immigration detonation center Bangkok Thailand.
- Refugees and Asylum seekers cannot work because they are illegal.
- Their children can’t go to school.
- They can’t meet their daily expenses, as they have no source of income the church do help but to not all of them its meager.
- Facing Discrimination and more problems UNHCR is not helping in any thing only delays in the cases people are waiting since 5 to 6 years some Christian Asylum seekers cases have being closed and they are forced to go back to there country some are waiting for the Refugee status Refugees are waiting for the resettlement for years and years.
I have mentioned few information regarding the situation of Pakistani Asylum seekers and refugees in Thailand, I Salman Obaid and my Church friends Mr. Waseem Kamran Salman Obaid and Mr. we too are persecuted people fled from Pakistan since a year and a half ago we are trying to help our Pakistani Christian brothers and sister by providing them food stuff as we too are in the same situation we collect money from each other and some of our Thai friends to help as we are also in need but we can not see the small kids, old people dying of hunger. We are helping 20 to 30 families but that is also very little as we do not have enough sources.
So their are many Pakistani Christian families in Thailand waiting for help many children are without there parents as they have been detained in Immigration detention center the old people, children, wife is without her husband, husband is without his wife the situation is more bad then Pakistan, they all are without help.
Only we want from all of you are the prayer’s for Pakistani persecuted Christians that we all could come out from these stagnant circumstances, and please do visit Thailand Bangkok and encourage these helpless people by the word of God, please join us together to help these poor and stress God's people our own people.
