Zimbabwe is a country that has been experiencing hard times for over three decades. I would like to try to help the poor (which make up the majority of the population) and especailly the children of Zimbabwe by launching this fundraiser. It is common to see educated, working-class age memebers of the community selling fruit (even fruit that is about to rot because they cannot throw it away as they can potentially make a few cents from selling it) in the street corners. This is a heart- breaking site. It is due to the high levels of unmployement and limited options given to the citizens in order to earn an income. Children in rural areas walk long distances (up to 8kms or further) daily to get to school. This is a burden enough, but they do this without the aid of shoes on their feet. Let us help these people because they are truly doing the best they can to survive. I cannot summarise the extreme poverty conditions in words. All I can say is that after experiencing it, I think the most humane thing one could do is to at least try to help them. I hope you find it in your hearts to help make someone else's life that much brighter, happier and worth living.
