Helping Have-Nots

This is a classic story of the “Haves and Have-Nots”.

My daughter, Olivia Johnson, has earned a spot to attend a skills-development conference, but we can't AFFORD to pay for the experience. She has put in the hard work, long hours, focus and determination to achieve this honor. Only MONEY keeps her from going. How VERY unfair!

We are asking her friends, family, neighbors, associates, community, and even strangers to help overcome this monetary hurdle!

The high school organization, Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America, has 9 students eligible to spend 5 nights in Anaheim, CA at the FCCLA 2019 National Leadership Conference (with a bonus trip to Disneyland)! The total cost is around $2,000.00!

Other students have sponsors or income to pay their expenses.

WE DON'T! I'm unable to work due to my neurological and autoimmune disorders. And no company has been in contact with us to support Olivia's goals. She has contacted many businesses. They tell her to go online and fill out a contact form… and they will notify her of their decision. Well, it's just a brushoff.

This 16-year-old would represent a business WELL! She is intelligent, beautiful, poised, responsible and so MUCH MORE!

So, I am crying out to the community instead of seeking a generous benefactor. Let Olivia represent YOU! Especially, step up if you have been left out due to MONEY! You were a “Have-Not,” so you couldn't reap what you have sown!

What message do we send if my daughter is unable to meet her peers in conference due to money?

First, excited and willing to do any fundraisers, her teacher is now deflated. Today, we learned that the main fundraiser event (A Mother's Day Weekend Fun Run) is cancelled due to lack of interest. At that event, we could have set up tables to sell baked goods, personalized items, homemade soaps, etc. Nothing has been planned to replace that event.

So, indeed, we are counting on YOU to help bring some justice to this situation.
