Helping Syrian families in refugee camps in Greece

Hello, good people. Have the world events lately made you feel overwhelmed and powerless? Does your heart break a little every time you see another awful thing happening to a vulnerable child? Do you wish there was something you could do at an individual level to help protect them and make their world a little better?

Me too.

I've spent the last few months planning an initiative that I hope will serve as my small part for humanity. With a background in nutrition and health promotion, I will be going to Greece in February to provide nutritional aid to one of the world's most disadvantaged people: displaced Syrian refugees, particularly children. I will be going with a team of health professionals: doctors, paediatricians, nurses, physiotherapists, and nutritionists

To help this project succeed, I need your help. I ask that you give whatever amount you can to help bring these Syrian refugees hope and provide some little comfort to them. Your donations will be used to purchase whatever is needed by them, such as stationery, children's dvds, basic sanitary items, weight gain assistance supplements, warm clothing (it will be freezing at this time of year), seedlings to start a garden, learning resources, amongst others. Ideally most of these will be purchased from Greece to support local businesses.

As cliché as it is, no amount is too small. Forego a cup of coffee this month and make that $4 stretch a lifetime. If you are unable to provide money but have some items that could be taken (such as children's Arabic DVDs), please contact me as that would be appreciated too.
