Helping Out Pete

"My name is Peter Rock. I live in Fayetteville, NC and am 61 years old. I am a practicing Christian, worked all my life and enjoyed all of God's many blessings. On July 7th of this year, I was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer and am looking at a 2 month life span. I’ve tried to live a healthy lifestyle, so you can imagine my surprise when my digestive upsets turned out to be cancer. This has all happened way too fast. Like most people in my situation, I AM UNPREPARED. Over the past year, my failing health has caused me to lose my job and health insurance. I have applied for Medicaid and Social Security benefits but I don’t know when or if that money will become available. This has left me without the means to prepare for my final days. The cost of dying is unbelievable to me. I am asking for your help and support so that I may die with dignity. I have received help and financial support from my family and friends to the extent that I can no longer ask for further financial help. I'd appreciate whatever you can contribute at this time of need. Bless you all."

Family Update: Peter passed away, peacefully, on August 17, 2016 at his home in Fayetteville, NC. Peter had initiated this request before he died. Peter's sister (Maria) is handling his final affairs and will ensure that ALL money donated will be used to pay his expenses: Housing, Medical and Funeral financial obligations. He will not be rewarded any Medicaid or Social Security benefits now that he is deceased. In lieu of flowers we are asking for donations to be sent through this website. It will only be open for donations until October 1^st. We will be happy to personally thank each and every donor and give an update once the campaign is completed. Should there be any excess; those monies will be donated for Pancreatic Cancer Research at the University of Florida, Peter’s alma mater. Our Uncle also died quickly after being diagnosed with the same type of cancer.
