Everyone Deserves a Place to Call Home

I would not normally do this, but I need help. As I have previously mentioned, in January I took in a young boy who was homeless and sleeping outside for a number of reasons. His social workers had exhausted all avenues for further help in finding him another placement. Due to his age it proved to be very difficult for anyone to let him in and nothing was available , so he was sleeping outside, I could not bare the thought of a 17 year old sleeping out, so he was brought to my house late one night with nothing but what he was wearing.

We have been working on his skills, motivation and well being in a holistic manner and he has really flourished. Finally, we seem to have found a solution for him to have a safe place to call home with a relative who is willing to support him again at last. This is fantastic news of course! Due to Covid he has not been able to work and earn any money as I preferred him being safe at home with us, however, it is now time to move on.

I need to find an apartment for him to stay in for a few months with supervision and support him in this new phase. Friends have encouraged me to raise funds through a post like this to hopefully collect enough money to be able to support him for the next few months until he is able to earn his own keep and pay his own way. So here I am! If anyone out there would like to help us out with a donation of any amount which will go towards paying his rent and utilities for the next few months it would be awesome! I wish I didn't need to do this but with a family of 9 it's not so easy.
