Campaign Story
Hello my name is Alex Buettner and I have a young daughter with Myasthenia gravis which is a chronic autoimmune neuromuscular disease characterized by varying degrees of weakness of the skeletal (voluntary) muscles of the body. It occurs when normal communication between the nerve and muscle is interrupted at the neuromuscular junction—the place where nerve cells connect with the muscles they control. MG occurs in all ethnic groups and both genders. It most commonly affects young adult women and older men, but it can occur at any age.
Most people living with MG describe their condition and symptoms as a "feeling paralyzed" because their body slowly starts weakening. Lifting a arm to brush your teeth or even eating your food becomes a daily struggle. Im trying to raise money to help my daughter get treatment and also help others such as her friends in their support group they have created if anyone can help my daughter and her friends we will highly appreciate it and we hope you all can help make a difference in their lives.
