Helping John finally Rest in Peace

His name is John Maramba but his loved ones know him as Johnjon. He was the only son and has 2 older sisters named Myla and Maricris. The 3 siblings were orphaned before i could remember and they are my cousins. Johnjon was born with limitations and in his 25 years of life, he had a endured a life of betrayal, abuse and dehumanization. The person that was responsible for his well being had neglected his medical needs and failed to meet the standards of caring for a person with disabilities by not providing a safe home and the necessary social stimulation. She instead chose to do very little for him, she chose to feed him, clothe him and neglect his obvious medical concerns. Johnjon was deaf, mute and was born with dwarfism so communicating was difficult but he was extremely responsive to his sisters, unfortunately they were seperated from one another and one sister was in the process of becoming the legal guardian. Maricris had planned a life around her brother and has been pursuing her degree in nursing in hopes to provide the proper care and needs for her brother. She was motivated to give him a stable and loving home with her husband who were only to visit on the legal guardians terms. She resides in Los Angeles county and stayed on call for Johnjon and since his passing, Maricris is feeling at a loss and expressed her love for him to me and the conditions he was found deceased so we want to share his story.

Johnjon lived in a small home in Los Angeles county with an entrusted family member where there was very little guidance and supervision. She lacked the compassion and understanding for him and no i am not being out of line but stating the facts because I know that most will agree that her actions speak for her and will undeniably agree that she didn’t see Johnjon as another living, conscious being or her nephew but as a thing. The way she clothed him or should i say kept him clothed was duct taping his clothes on and when it was time for him to be fed, she would place his food on a plate on the ground as if he were an animal. His deceased body was found Dec. 9 '15 in the morning lying there cold and stiff as a board. Johnjons devastated sister had requested his belongings but was informed that they were already in the trash. The living conditions that he lived in were uninhabitable. I am not only saddened by the circumstances of his death but angered at the incompetent people who enabled, condoned and inflicted abuse on someone who needed to be nurtured, loved and accepted. I am angered with myself for not looking back and not being the voice he needed so now I will choose to be his voice. The life Johnjon knew were NOT conditions for anyone to live in and the dehumanizing acts are absolutely UNACCEPTABLE for any person to endure. It is my dismay to share that my cousin died at the age of 25 and knew the mentioned above as life.
