Helping a Friend in Need

One of my high school classmates has just learned she has cervical cancer and is just starting chemo & radiation. Her entire life she has been healthy with merely a common cold once in awhile and because of that the medical insurance she has is the bare minimum to avoid government fines at the end of the year, and can't change it now. Not only will it not pay for her chemo & radiation but it will not pay for her much needed prescriptions for nausea or the other many prescriptions she will need before it's over. She is a single Mother working and caring for her kids while going through treatment. Having gone through cancer treatment I know first hand the costs associated with treatment, lab work, scans and prescriptions. My wish is to be able to raise enough money to ease the burden on her so she is able to focus on healing and being able to afford a day off when she becomes so worn out from treatment. There are medications available for nausea and all of the other symptoms she is sure to encounter, that she should be able to get and not have to just tolerate because she can't afford them. Being able to stay positive and able to get the much needed rest is essential to beating this monster that so many of us have come to know.  When I won my battle with cancer I told myself if I can help just one person I will feel even more blessed to be a survivor.  Many of my classmates have been diagnosed with cancer.  I don't know anyone who hasn't been touched with cancer in their lives in some way, either themselves, a loved one or a friend.  This woman I am helping, like all who have to fight this monster, deserves to be able to receive the treatment and medications she so desperately needs.  Please help me help her.  Thank you for reading her story and for your donation.
