helping a dear friend

Im trying to help out a dear friend of mine. She's been trying to redo the roof and back room of her house. Several back to back storms have halted all progress. Now there is a huge hole in the roof. Everyone she gets a little ahead she gets thrown back to the beginning. The last in a long line of things is her father's passing. After paying for the funeral and paying off his debt.
