Kenya's Wildlife, Wild Extracts and Aquila Safaris needs your help during this wake of COVID-19. DONATING TO FUEL OUR JEEP AND WILL HELP US REACH WILDLIFE AND THE RANGERS AND WE WILL GIVE YOU LIVE UPDATES ON HOW THEY ARE DOING.
After the government of Kenya reported the first case of COVID-19, We embarked on a consistent creation of videos through our YouTube channel known as Wild Extracts where we showcase raw wildlife videos right from the wilderness. We do and continue to do this to help market the destinations so as they will have a fluent tourism flow inspired by our content. All videos and pictures we present are taken while on safaris.
But now there is a problem out here – Tourism has been shuttered by Pandemic. All hotels and camps are closed leaving the entire industry paralyzed.
Since the start of the Pandemic that has seen the entire world locked down, we have continued to put up the achieved videos for the world to keep having that feeling of virtual wilderness. However, the wildlife out there needs small help that we give them while on our daily duties in the field. Reporting seriously injured animals to wildlife vets units, de-snaring the snares that we come across on game drives and nature walks, our presence in certain areas that denies poachers' privacy and not forgetting the anonymous information we provide to wildlife authorities and researchers for the betterment of the wildlife. All these are lacking out there!
On the other hand, most of the protected areas i.e reserves, conservancies and suctuaries depends on the funds they collect from tourists. At the moment they are operating on a very thin line with the struggle of keeping their personel like rangers and maintaining their day to day operations like patrols and monitoring.
In an attempt to provide our presence, we have decided to be making trips to different national parks and reserves as locals. Our goal is to try and spend as much time as possible in the parks trying to accomplish the above-mentioned task as well as continue to provide the world with the wilderness updates.
To accomplish this we have already sorted out on accommodation and we got a 4x4 vehicle in place for our transport. We are only short of the fuel (Diesel) and food while out there and that's why I am appealing for you, a well wishes to fund us for fuel or food. Proceeds here will be used for fueling our jeep plus one rangers jeep for patrol, buying food us and making some food, face masks and soap donations to immediate local people that we will identify as vulnerable in these areas due to the effects of COVID-19.
We are looking forward to be heading out for the next 3 months - Mid-July, August, September to mid-October for at least 10 days each month targeting different parks that we will be announced on our main channels of communication.
