Campaign Story
We are knocking on your kind hearts for help with our dear brother Rhys’ hospital bills. He took himself to St Luke's BGC, near his workplace, when he felt symptoms late Wednesday. He has suffered from a stroke and is under close observation in the ICU since and we cannot move him to a more affordable hospital as of now due to the criticality of his condition.
This is what we know of what happened from discussions with his doctors (Cardiologist, Neurologist, Pulmonologist, Endocrinologist):
Rhys had an ongoing heart attack when he walked in to the ER. He came alone and walked about 20 minutes from his apartment. The heart attack was addressed, unfortunately he had an ischemic stroke a few hours later, rendering loss of motor movement and speech. He was about to undergo an emergency thrombectomy to remove the clot, but he regained motor control so it did not push through. He was then admitted to the Neuro Critical Care Unit. The following day he had to be intubated because they noticed he was having difficulty breathing. Later, a CT scan showed the clot hemorrhaged and we gave the go signal for a head surgery to relieve pressure on his skull.
He is a very dear son, brother, Ninong, Tito, cousin, barkada, friend, officemate, fellow mountaineer who always brings to us his quick wit remarks and laughs.
We truly appreciate your help. God bless.
