My sister, Erika Mae Masilungan-Peñas, has been diagnosed with type 1 diabetes since she was 19 years old (she is now 26). Her weight dropped significantly and her eyes were severely damaged. She also suffered 2 miscarriages due to the complications.
On January 26, 2021, she was rushed to the hospital due to Diabetic Ketoacidosis (DKA), a life-threatening problem that can happen in people with diabetes if their body starts to run out of insulin. She was in the ICU during the first day and underwent several tests and surgeries for the next 10 days.
She was discharged last February 6, 2021, but she has to continue the daily treatment for the large wound on her right foot and left pinky finger. She had the first cleaning session on February 8, 2021. We are already in huge debt due to the hospital bill and we need more funds for the next sessions.
Please help us raise money to pay for at least a month's worth of treatment (regular cleaning = P5.5k/session, vacuum-assisted closure = P22k/session) and to continue her supply of insulin.
Any amount is very much appreciated. Please pray for the fast healing of her wounds as well.
Thank you very much. God bless you all!
