Help Dad Fight Cancer

Hi. My dad was diagnosed with METASTATIC CARCINOMA (Stage 4 cancer) in the pancreas last October 22, after a surgery to address an obstruction caused by the 3cm x 4cm tumor. He has been complaining of acid reflux for months now, which his first doctor dismissed as GERD, stress or anxiety. Seeing that he is in extreme pain despite the antacids and antidepressants given to him, I rushed him to ER last October 12.

By the time of the surgery, the disease has already metastasized to his intestines and lymph nodes. His recovery took some time as his stomach rejected food and water post-surgery. Thankfully, we are seeing good progress and we're hoping we can explore his treatment options with his oncologist soon.

A diagnosis is not a death sentence, and we believe that there is still HOPE, given dad's faith and strong will to live. We are looking forward to many more years of his amazing homecooked meals, see him enjoy gardening, art, and road trips again, and celebrate occasions with family and friends.

We know that he can't do it without help. I, his only daughter, am solely handling the family finances, while my mom is suffering from dementia and needs full-time support as well. Unfortunately, Dad's HMO/insurance coverage already expired more than a year ago when he turned 66. I already depleted my savings to cover dad's surgery and hospitalization, which as of today (Oct 30), already amounted to Php 402,000 (>8,000 USD), doctors' fees not yet included.

The family knocks on each of your heart to help my dad FIGHT against this disease. Any amount of support will go a long way.
