My name is Deeksha. I'm here to raise money for a friend. Her name is Anvitha(here on referred to as Anvi), she's 26yrs old. We have known each other for a long time now. Anvi is a very cheerful girl and believes in living her life to the fullest.
More than a decade ago she was in an accident. Her spine was hurt and she was bedridden for a week. Though she recovered completely and was back on her feet a week later, little did anyone expect the bone protrusion on the right side of her chest. After several tests, it was confirmed that it was just a protrusion and not tumour. The doctor suggested corrective surgery but her parents decided against it as she was still very young and hoped that it would balance out eventually. Unfortunately, this never happened and the protrusion got worse. What was initially just a protrusion started affecting her movement. A shooting pain would appear in her ribs which also extended to her right hand. There were times when she couldn't lift her right hand, lean back or bend forward. When it got worse, every breath became painful. One night she even woke up unable to breathe. This still happens with her. The doctors say that there is nothing they can do about it except for improve the appearance of those bones.
Over the years, she has learnt to avoid pain with a healthy diet and by practicing yoga everyday. This has considerably reduced the number of such incidents to 2 or 3 times a year which she says is now bearable.
Anvi has decided to go for the surgery. This surgery is not a cure but will only reduce the prominence of the protrusion. She has lived her life covering the protrusion under baggy clothes and high necklines and with all the bullying and staring. Though this surgery will not take away the pain it will at least make her life a little better by reducing the appearance.
About the surgery, it is structural fat grafting and the doctor has suggested at least 2 sittings with stem cell storage for future requirements. Anvi had two options. One was to shave her bones combined with fat grafting and other is just fat grafting. The former requires one sitting of fat grafting whereas the latter requires 2. The reason she wants to go for the second option is because of the uncertainty of how it would affect her already existing condition of painful episodes if the bones are shaved.
With the kind of job and responsibilities she has, Anvi can barely save any money let alone being able to afford the surgery. I want to help my friend and so I'm starting this campaign for her. Please help me reach my target and put a smile on my friend's face.
