Annexation of the Crimea and the fighting in the Donetsk and Lugansk regions is the reason of a huge number of refugees from these regions in Ukraine. According to the State Service for Emergencies, in August 2016 recorded 1 040 thousand refugees. The largest number of them moved to Kharkiv region (211,414 people), Dnipro region (86,563 people), Zaporizhia region (67,417 people), and to the city of Kyiv (more than 39,000 people). This number includes 172 thousand of children, and almost 500 thousand of disabled and elderly.

Most often refugees are living in dormitories of pansionates or barracks and small families apartments. There is a very high level of unemployment and, consequently, low income, and increases criminal situation among them. Social services are not always rise to the problems of so many new wards. Children of refugees because of the extremely low income of their parents are deprived of their normal food and decent health care.

The Charitable Fund “Help for You” has implemented a comprehensive program “Helping Hand”, which aims to assist all citizens of Ukraine who suffered during the annexation of Crimea and fighting in the Donbas. In particular, the program provides:

• Repairs in apartments, where the refugees-elderly and refugees-disabled are living
• The extension of the purchase of products in supermarkets at discount prices
• Construction of temporary and permanent housing for the refugee families with children
• Improvement of the refugee children in Israel

This donation will be used for improvement of the Ukrainian refugee children in Israel
