My name is Zanda Simamane and I’m a 25-year-old South African citizen currently residing in Johannesburg with a Master’s degree in Multimedia Broadcast Journalism from Falmouth University, Cornwall, United Kingdom - I completed my course back in 2013.
I also managed to secure a scholarship to fund a portion of my Falmouth University studies:
Thanks to the course and the work experience garnered thereafter, I’ve just been offered a life-changing opportunity to get some worthwhile international work experience in Madrid, Spain from 9 April 2016.
As early as NEXT MONTH (April), I’ll be carrying out a multitude of tasks for a corporate events management company as well as a professional lighting distributor, both based in Madrid.
Although I’m thrilled about this career-defining opportunity, there is a massive financial component to funding my stay in Madrid. Considering the unfavorable exchange rate - not to mention the substantial financial investment that went into my MA studies abroad (£1.00 GBP => R 21.95 ZAR) – I have very limited financial resources to fund my stay in April.
I’m looking to get the most out of this amazing opportunity and absolutely cannot wait to embark on this colossal adventure and new chapter in my life.
Being the youngest of 4 siblings, raised by an extremely hard-working single mother, I’d like to endeavour to raise funds for my time in Madrid and lesson the financial load (i.e. travel expenses, visa application fee’s, accommodation etc.) currently faced by my inspirational and supportive mother.
Virtually any assistance on the funding front would greatly be appreciated.
<'Thank you very much': I’ve been brushing up on my Spanish in preparation for my impending travels>
The warmest of regards
