Welcome to the Australian delegation for the Ship for World Youth Leaders Program 2018 – SWY30!
A BIT ABOUT THE PROGRAM: The Ship for World Youth is a 6-week leadership program hosted by the Japanese Cabinet Office. There are 12 representatives selected from around Australia, all travelling to Japan in January to meet with young leaders from Japan and other participating countries. Countries include: Mozambique, South Africa, Sri Lanka, India, Oman, Spain, Mexico, Peru & Poland.
The majority of the program takes place aboard the Nippon Maru – a cruise ship transformed into a temporary home for participants where we will live, study and connect. Ports of call during the journey will see us dock at Kochi (India) and Colombo (Sri Lanka).
The aim of the program is to build cross-cultural awareness, leadership & project management skills, fostering international cooperation and developing global networks.
WHY WE NEED YOUR HELP: Any funds raised will go directly into funding the team both during the lead-up and during our time in Japan. In particular, we are in the process of designing and putting together our National Uniform - a formal dress which represents who we are as Australians. We have budgeted approximately $200 each and any support towards this target is of great assistance.
Wherever possible we will be supporting Australian companies and businesses in purchasing required materials.
We will be departing for Japan on 15th January so any funds raised before this date will be greatly appreciated! Even the smallest donation can make a difference!!
