My wife, Jennifer, nicknamed Pepper, was hospitalized from 26 March to 11 April due to severe pneumonia. She spent a week at the ICU and another week at a private ward due to compromised Immune system. The doctors gave her a go signal after saying that her X-ray and blood work were clear of any infections. At that time, we paid 500,000 philippine pesos (about $10,000 US Dollars) to the hospital for her 11 days of confinement.

Unfortunately, just one day after Pepper's discharge from the first Hospital, due to having trouble breathing, we were forced to rush her to another hospital. At the second Hospital, we were told that apparently, her pneumonia had not been resolved at all, and her blood work was showing that actually she was now at a septic level. Due to the difficulty in breathing, my wife was immediately intubated to assist her with breathing and sent from the Emergency room directly to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and hooked up to a Mechanical Ventilator machine to breath for at this point, she was just too tired and had lost the ability to do so on her own.

Pepper spent more than a month in the ICU, the bacteria after being cultured and tested, had been found to have become drug resistant/antibiotic resistant already. Additionally, from a routine CT scan of her lungs, she was also diagnosed with breast cancer. A biopsy was performed to confirm this.

Since she was having difficulty during the weaning off stage from the ventilator, the doctors performed a tracheotomy. They put a hole in her throat with a tube sticking out so the oxygen could pass there instead. A week after the procedure, Pepper was off of the ventilator and started on normal oxygen support and the Nasogastric Tube (NGT) was removed as well.

When she was transferred out from the ICU, a new complication arose, Pepper could not move her right leg and her right arm due to a blood clot that had formed in her brain. She had to go through a difficult and painful process to get the movement back. Happily, as of now, she can walk around without assistance and is getting ready to get off oxygen support as well for the Tracheotomy tube in throat to be removed. Next steps from here, she is also preparing for cancer treatment.

We are humbly asking for your good will and ask that you please help as we have already exhausted our savings during her first confinement and second confinements. Thank you so much. God bless!

Edit 1:

The site does not allow videos to be uploaded, so I was not able to add any. I uploaded some videos of her being able to stand up and to talk to the video platform Youtube.
