My mom is a fighter… I know she is. But, we need your support for us to fight with her.
Today is my mama’s 7th day in the hospital, and 3rd day in the ICU. What started as a simple cough and flu, or at least what we thought off, led to a very serious COVID 19 ailment.
My mom tested positive for COVID last April 5, 2 days after we lost our Papa because of the same illness. On Tuesday that same week, she experienced difficulty breathing so we had to put her in oxygen at home. Come Thursday, we rushed her to the ER of the nearest hospital here in Laguna and thank God, she was accommodated. But during that time, the hospital could not admit her yet since, like any other hospitals, they are in full capacity for COVID 19 patients. Her laboratory results showed that she has slight pneumonia but can be managed. The hospital released her with a note that she needed to be admitted to any other hospitals. We tried our best to bring her to other hospitals – Quezon City, Makati, Rizal – but, was unsuccessful. In the car, we saw the breathing difficulty she was experiencing so were desperate and went back to the hospital where she was initially brought. After much pleading, they agreed to have her stay in the ER. The next day, she was admitted to a room.
All were working ok except that the doctors needed to do Hemoperfusion (a method of filtering the blood to remove a toxin) procedure. But, on Tuesday, April 6, we received the most devastating news. She was intubated since her oxygen level went down to 30. It went up from time to time but still unstable. Currently, they are monitoring her heart and kidney functions. Yesterday (April 15), doctors performed Sled Dialysis to help the kidney functions. Doctor said that she is strong and responding to procedures given.
As my mama is fighting, the hospital bills are also piling up. We are knocking at your benevolent hearts to help us pay for the expenses. At the moment, we are nearing P700,000. We will be truly grateful with any amount you can give.
May our good Lord bless and keep you safe. Thank you very much!
