Help Vindhya

I came out to Sri Lanka for my elective nursing placement to see the differences in nursing. While being out here I have realised that the most common reason for admissions in hospital is due to road traffic accidents. On my 4th week out here one of our coordinators Vindhya was tragically in an accident where a bus overtook another car and managed to knock down her and her friend. Vindhya is suffering in the government hospital with spinal trauma, And sadly her best friend was killed at the scene. I went to visit Vindhya at the hospital as she is at the same hospital that I do my placement at. It was so emotional to sit with her and I didn't realise the impact this accident would have not only on vindhya but her family too. I held her hand and just sat with her for a while, she is so strong. I couldn't imagine what she was going through and the mention of her friend made tears roll down her face in distress and shock at what has happened, I wiped her tears and hugged her knowing I couldn't do anything to make it all go away. I want to help Vindhya and her family financially, sadly her mum was killed as a victim of the Tsunami here 10 years ago and her dad has heart complications and hearing impairments. Therefore Vindhya is the key breadwinner for her family at only 25 and she helps to contribute to her brothers education, Alongside supporting her dad who unfortunately cannot work. If I could raise money for her to help support her medical needs and family needs while she is in recovery it would be immensely appreciated and ensure that her financial worries were taken away and she can concentrate on her own health.
