Vhal Mendoza is currently confined at Tumbokon Hospital in Kalibo, Aklan. She was diagnosed with sepsis.

She had a wound infection from a boil that grew on her head. The boil became an open wound. During her self treatment, bacteria and contaminated liquid entered the open wound. Her high blood sugar exacerbated her condition. Due to these complications, the physician diagnosed her with sepsis. She is in a very critical condition and would need to be airlifted as soon as possible from Aklan to Manila to get the necessary medical attention. Her brother, Marvin, arrived in Kalibo this morning to take care of Vhal. She is currently waiting for a bed to be available at the hospital's Intensive Care Unit.

Airlifting the patient would require at least half a million pesos. The doctors said that Vhal is unable to take a commercial flight as her case is very sensitive.

At this point, she is still unconscious and disoriented.

Awake and talking to her brother

Good news! The patient's condition has been improving. She is now awake and talking to her brother. The patient no longer requires airlifting to Manila. However, the family still needs financial assistance for the hospital bills of the patient. Vhal is still in the ICU but is now getting better.

NGT has been done to the patient to replenish her fluids. NGT or Nasogastric intubation is a medical process involving the insertion of a plastic tube through the nose, past the throat, and down into the stomach.
