Help us with our special day

As most of you may know Alan and I have set up this page to see if some very kind and generous people would help us with our special day. Firstly we thought you might want to know a little bit about us and how we got to this most wonderful stage of our life. Alan and I have know each other since the age of 11 (and we've recently turned the big 30, ahh!!), we went to the same school hung out with the same people but never really got to know each back then, and like a lot of people when you leave high school you loose touch with some people unfortunately. After this time we both settled down and had children, and again like a lot of relationships they fell apart. Which for me personally is a blessing in disguise because fast forward to 3 years ago Alan and I found ourselves back in each other's lives through a mutual friend (yey us). I had just gotten out of a abusive relationship, Alan was starting divorce proceedings and having to deal with the loss of hair through all the stress, while both still having to put brave happy faces on for the boys. We started chatting and then something just clicked (or as some might say their was a spark, "that connection"). We would talk for hours on the phone, plan days out with kids and just be there for each other, then as time went one we decided to give this little group of people a name and become "a family". Alan popped the question over a chicken platter in a local restaurant whilst the fire alarm was going off (luckily false alarm) and my son was stuck on the restaurant loo answering natures call, what more could a girl want lol. Alan and his son moved in, and believe us times were hard. I was an apprentice training to an accountant but had to take time out to look after my mum. Alan was dealing with a lot of debt from his previous marriage which meant we've had to struggle whist trying to save for the last year for our special day. We've chosen a date, a venue, got the dress and suits, but we hit snag the cost of living and unforseen circumstances meant our savings had to take a hit. So no budget left for flowers, photographer and the last payment for our beautiful venue, and yet we have worked so hard, for us to fall at the last hurdle on the way to use having our special day where we become a proper family.
