Help us with Leo’s vet bills, the sweet eyed dog

"I am Leo, I’m 11 years old and still have many years to live. In August 2017 I have been rescued by Tenuta del Mito, a no profit organization which aims to rescue abandoned and stray dogs, especially those with severe behaviour issues. In the ‘Tenuta del Mito’ I found a save place where I could find some hope for my future. It’s two years now that I am looking for a home, a family, but no one has noticed me yet. But, after all, at the ‘Tenuta del Mito’ they take care of me until someone will bring me home. However, this new year has been much less generous to me…”

The morning of the 31st December, Leo, Leone for the closest, started bleeding from his gums. After a rush to the animal hospital, all medical exams started: coagulation exams, emogas, citofluometry, blood count (CBC) and many others. He required a urgent blood transfusion because his body no longer produces red blood cells. On Thursday 3th January 2019, he has been diagnosed with the secondary Evan’s syndrome, an autoimmune hemolytic anemia (IMHA) in conjunction with immune-mediated thrombocytopenia, which requires a lifelong medical treatment. Unfortunately, medical expenses are too high and currently ‘Tenuta del Mito’ no-profit organization is in debt for paying all the bills. Medical bills are 2000 euros just for the initial treatments but will definitely be more in the future, considering the required lifelong medical treatments.

All of the funds will go towards getting Leo back on his feet again and to pay for all medical bills and lifelong medical treatments until he will find a generous family which will love and take care of him.

LEO’S STORY: Leo is a lovely crossbreed small sized dog who only looks for a gentle touch and the warmth of his dog basked placed near the fireplace. Since 2016, in the ‘Tenuta del Mito’ Leo found a safe place where he received all the cares, the cuddles and the attentions needed to such sweet eyed creatures. The youngest volunteer of the ‘Tenuta del Mito’, named Ylenia (8), who is absolutely Leo’s favourite human, is continuously asking about him: “Will Leo come back? Will I have the chance to cuddle him once more? Will he play with me the same way we used to?”.
That’s how Leo is: a quiet but present dog. He always stoods by your side but never invading your space unless asked to, his paw is always ready to reach your leg and his eyes are always ready to look at yours, because, in the end, that’s all he needs.

Please, help us to bring him home, to pay medical expenses and his expensive medical treatments. Help us to give him a second chance, which he really deserves, for the new year.
