The average life of a stray in the United Arab Emirates is 1 and a half years. These cats and kittens have to learn how to survive in 50 degree heat with 90 to 98% humidity, newborns simply burning to death on the hot floors. Living in compromising, dirty and dangerous places with new guidelines enforcing fines for feeding strays – they are all starving to death on the streets!
The strays (mostly dumped pets of people who are leaving the country) are landing on the streets, without feeding stations or governmental support. These innocent souls rely 100% on volunteers when it comes to getting basic necessities such as food and water. But our volunteers also have to manage vet bills and TNR schemes (trap-neuter-release) to stop more strays being born onto the streets.
Started by a lady who is now living in the UK, she is working with a small group of volunteers who are trying to get as many cats off the streets as possible. They spend hours feeding the cats, trap them to safety, finding foster care, driving them to vet appointments and preparing them for their forever homes.
Until now the small volunteer group of 10 could afford to board, neuter and vaccinate 55 cats (with around 40 finding a forever home already!) - but we have reached our limits, as all cost have been carried by us.
Thats why we've created the fund-me page - to help and to rescue more innocent souls, who have lost from one day to the next their homes!
Please donate whatever you can and help a fur baby in need today!
