€150.00raised of €20,000.00 goal goal
The primary task of Ribirabo foundation is to study, restore and preserve the mosaics created in Georgia, both in ancient times as well as the so called “Soviet era”.
Mosaics are the industrial cultural heritage of our country. Georgia happens to be one of the post-soviet countries where the production and creation of mosaics was particularly productive. Objects decorated in fantastic mosaics are scattered across the entire country and many of them are unique works of art.
Our Foundation is raising funds for the restoration of Georgia's industrial and cultural heritage. We intend to reach our goals through fund raising as well as through the attraction of appropriate grants and help from private organizations interested in preserving mosaics as well as the support of the general public.
Currently, we are implementing a project to restore the mosaic (former bus stop in Tsikhisdziri) in Dusheti district (Architect Giorgi Chokheli, Artist Zourab Kapanadze). This mosaic is a visible example of the unique mosaic technology that was used in Georgia in the 70s, 80s and the 20th century that were then undeservedly forgotten. This unique mosaic is in poor condition and needs to be restored and our foundation is ready to begin its restoration. For this, we have the necessary human resources and qualifications, including specialists who possess unique technology and the necessary work experience, as well as all the materials needed for restoration.
Please help us to save Georgian mosaics! The contribution of each of you is very important to us!
