The Hayma makes it possible for the residents of the communities of Pisa to receive help from the project and friends to be able to give these people a new opportunity to continue their dreams and create the bridge that they must cross to realize them.

The Hayma project provides access to the residents of rural and remote communities in Pisac, affected by COVID-19, making it possible for these communities and residents in Pisac to resist this time without tourism as it is their only activity for 30 years, and They will begin to create, with our help, community-specific activities to be able to resolve at this time until tourism is regularized in Peru, but our commitment is to train them, teach them in new techniques so that they can create their own growth opportunities.

In Peru, indigenous communities are scattered throughout the Andes mountains and lack access to many public services, including education. Children must walk several hours to the nearest elementary school, and high schools are often only found in larger urban centers, making it too long a journey to commute to a pie. This lack of access has created that parents like children travel to larger towns and rent a room or travel every day to sell handicrafts to travelers. Unfortunately in the month of February 2020 the river called Kitamayo overflowed by seasonal rains and flooded the town of Pisac closing the accesses to tourism throughout the month of February and in the month of March 2020 the government of Peru indicated that There is a closure of borders, and then the general quarantine of the entire country begins due to the worldwide pandemic created by Covid – 19.

This created the cancellation of all traveler reservations and abandoned the entire sacred valley of the Incas, because the only sustenance of these settlers is to offer their jobs to foreign travelers. For 20 years this tourist activity has been in slow growth and in recent years agricultural activity in the area has been decreasing due to large exporting companies and leaving these small areas abandoned.

Aid in these families is a very important investment since the benefits are impressive for future generations and families. It has been shown that by supporting these families through technical training in their activities, education and creating a bridge for the export of their products.

Studies showing an enlisted, educated family are more likely to have a smaller, healthier family with a stronger voice in testing in their town and the ability to advocate for a better future and their children.
