Last summer I had the opportunity to meet a person, who has dedicated his whole life to travelling, and show him and especially myself, how beautiful my country is. I also had the opportunity to hear a lot about his life, but the most touching part was his story from his time in the military times, when he organised volunteer groups to help orphanages in every country his ship visited.
This trip changed a lot for me.
Most of our lives are built up around work and work related success but what about us? What about people around us? Why does this not matter so much?
With those and a lot of other questions in my head I decided that I want to see if there’s another option for spending your life. Maybe with more awareness of the needs of those around us?
We propose to put this concept into action, and develop a manual to help others follow in our footsteps. We will journey around Europe, looking for places we can help, whether it be volunteering at an orphanage, cleaning up a beach, helping a pensioner with whatever tasks they need done, or any other way we can be of service to the planet. At the same time, we will look for hidden gems to visit, report on obstacles we encounter and ways to overcome them, compile information on different laws, customs, and ways of discovering what needs there are. We will make it a point to do something to help the planet or help others each day of our journey. We will listen to the stories of people and share our stories as well. At the end of our journey, we hope to share this information with others and to inspire them to also spend a vacation or a lifetime giving back to others.
