Dear Everyone!

First of all let me introduce myself, my name is Sári Volom, (hopefully) the future CEO of Photon. Photon is an online marketplace that helps companies discover and book talented photographers across the globe. It’s important for us to bring transparency to the market and help talented photographers without an established network getting recognized.

I finished high school in this year and I started to work on my startup idea with a super cool team. Now we have got the possibility to participate in an accelerator program and also get investment, but for this we should establish our ltd. Unfortunetly we don't have enough budget for it, so we want to ask for your help, to make possible to continue this really exciting journey! Thank you!

But what is our project? And who are we?

Photographers are suffering from the problem of self-marketing, it takes a lot of time and it’s also very expensive. The market is saturated, it is hard to stand out from the crowd. Businesses pick photographers mainly from their own established network, it is difficult to enter this privileged group of people. Freshening up these pools with new talents not only enables companies to see new approaches to their repetitious projects, but competition also drives down the price.

In case of not having a network yet, companies may try to find someone on the internet. Most of the photographers don’t disclose crucial data on their website: price, remains hidden and getting quotes take too much time. It makes the search time consuming and there is little to no chance to compare them.

Photon is the website where businesses can find all the relevant information to book the best fitting photographer, pay the order and get pictures. It streamlines the booking process, thus saves time and provides exposure for photographers as well. Customers enter basic information about their shoot (when, where and what) then book an available photographer based on pricing and their portfolio. After the shoot and payment they can download their edited gallery.

The current MVP version was launched 5 months ago. The customer requests a quote using an online form which then notifies the registered photographers to make their bid. Afterwards within the next 12 hours the customer receives the offers and the portfolio of all interested photographers and makes his/her final decision.

The startup was created by a group of friends with a wide range of skillsets. The team consists of a photographer, a designer, a programmer, a finance expert and a social media specialist. We believe that the key to success lies within a strong team capable to work in harmony and we are striving to hone ours to reach this.
